Influenced by commercial and vanguard electronic music, ARMIN KUESTER (who also acted under the pseudonym "Boris Black") started his musical activities with extensive sampling experiments on a low cost computer with an 8-Bit soundcard back in 1992. He was fascinated by the possibilities this technology gave him. Soon he replaced the soundcard with a professional sampling system, adding to it analogue and digital synthesizers. Thus began a musical evolution.

Today Armin operates as a composer, musician and producer in his own studio with carefully selected equipment. He is currently working as songwriter, producer and sound designer for several bands and projects around the world.

He did a lot of songwriting for Yello-founder Carlos Perón and was busy with their collaborative project Inca Hunters. He also acted as songwriter for alternative bands like The 3rd Culture and Skorbut.

Smoother sounds are in production with the atmospheric electropop-band Diskarnate in collaboration with Magnetic Fields vocalist Susan Anway and award winning artist Jack Andrews.

In 2010 he formed the electro/industrial band [de:ad:cibel] together with vocalist Daniel Galda (former band member of kAlte fArben and Das Ich).

Furthermore he produced a lot of remixes, inter alia for EISBRECHER, MISS SHIVA, MOB RESEARCH, DIFFUZION, TITANS, OTTO DIX, PLASTIC NOISE EXPERIENCE, FUTURE TRAIL, HALO EFFECT, MOON.74, AESTHETISCHE, DIVERJE and DR. OZZ.

His latest venture is a solo-project called Solar Powered Vampyre, where Armin creates cinematic hybrid tunes.

In addition to his band activities Armin creates scores for movies, theater productions and advertising. He also works as a freelance journalist for music magazines.
